Sometimes we come to the end of a week, or a season, feeling heavy in a way that's hard to name. Not unwell, exactly, just full, tangled, or a little far from ourselves. For many people, that's what first sparks curiosity about energy healing.

Interest in energy healing in Lebanon has grown steadily, and the language around it can feel confusing: energy cleansing, energy detox, clearing, balancing. In this Journal article, we'll explain plainly what an energy healing session at Neo Nour involves, what it is and isn't, and how to choose an experience that feels right for you.

What energy healing means at Neo Nour

Energy healing is an umbrella term for gentle practices that work with the idea of the body's subtle energy. Reiki is the best-known example. Many traditions describe a sense of energy that can feel open and flowing at times, and stuck or heavy at others.

At Neo Nour, an energy healing session is quiet, unhurried time in which your practitioner works with light touch or with hands held just above the body, while you rest. Many people use it as a way to pause, notice how they're feeling, and come back to themselves.

We want to be clear and honest: energy healing is a complementary wellbeing practice. It isn't a medical or psychological treatment, it doesn't diagnose or cure anything, and it should never replace care from your doctor, therapist or other health professional. It can sit gently alongside that care.

Energy cleansing and "energy detox": what the words describe

You'll often see the terms energy cleansing and energy detox. At Neo Nour, our energy cleansing session is described simply as a session focused on clearing unwanted or stagnant energy.

In practice, that means an intention-led session where the focus is on letting go: releasing what feels heavy and making a little more space. "Detox" here is a metaphor for that feeling of lightening, not a physical or medical detox. It doesn't remove toxins from the body or replace anything your body or your doctor already takes care of.

Some people find it helpful to bring a gentle intention, such as "I'd like to let go of a busy month", or "I want to feel more settled". Others come with no intention at all, and that's just as welcome.

What happens in an energy healing session

Each session is a little different, but most follow a calm rhythm.

Checking in. You'll begin with a short conversation about how you've been and what you're hoping for from the session. Share any preferences, such as whether you're comfortable with light touch or would prefer hands held above the body. Settling. You'll lie down fully clothed in a quiet room with soft light, with blankets and cushions for comfort. The session. Your practitioner moves slowly through a series of placements, often from head to feet, sometimes pausing longer where it feels right. The room stays calm. You might notice warmth, tingling, heaviness, emotion, or simply deep rest. You might notice very little. There is no correct experience. Closing. You'll be given time to come back gently, sit up when you're ready, and have some water. You're welcome to share what you noticed, or to keep it to yourself.

You're in control throughout. If you'd like to change position, pause, or ask a question, just say so.

Energy Detox & Crystal Healing: a combined experience

For those who'd like a fuller session, Neo Nour offers Energy Detox & Crystal Healing, one of our private combined sessions, which brings two complementary practices into one visit: an energy-cleansing session together with crystal healing. Read more in Energy Detox & Crystal Healing.

In the crystal healing part, crystals are placed on or around you while you rest. Many people enjoy their weight, texture and stillness as a gentle focal point, a way of feeling grounded in the moment. As with all our sessions, crystals are used as part of a calm, reflective experience, not as a remedy for any condition.

You'll find this combined session, along with its duration, format and price, on our Experiences page.

How energy healing fits alongside other practices

Energy healing pairs naturally with the other experiences at Neo Nour:

• Reiki: if you're new to hands-on energy work, our guide to your first Reiki session walks you through exactly what to expect. • Sound-based sessions: if you find it easier to settle by listening, explore our tuning fork and sound-based sessions on the Experiences page. • Breathwork and guided meditation: a good companion if you'd like simple practices to return to at home. • Coaching: if you'd like to reflect on mindset and goals too, read about holistic coaching in Lebanon. • Personalized Holistic Session: not sure which to choose? In this session, the healer selects an approach to suit you on the day.

Private and group experiences are available in person in Lebanon, and many are also offered online. Explore all current options on the Experiences page.

Preparing for your session, and afterwards

A few small things help you arrive ready to rest:

• Wear comfortable clothes. You'll stay fully clothed throughout. • Leave a little space in your day before and after, if you can. • Eat lightly and stay hydrated. • Let us know anything relevant to your comfort, such as pregnancy, a recent procedure, or an ongoing health condition, so the session can be adapted with care.

Afterwards, go gently. Drink water, step outside if you can, and notice how the rest of your day unfolds. Some people like to journal a few lines; others simply let the experience settle. Our article on integrating your session afterwards shares more ideas.

Questions people often ask

Do I need to believe in energy healing? No. Come with an open mind and simply notice your own experience.

Is energy healing the same as Reiki? Reiki is one form of energy healing. Our energy cleansing session focuses specifically on clearing and letting go, while Reiki follows its own traditional approach.

Will an energy detox remove toxins from my body? No. "Detox" describes the feeling of lightening and letting go. It's not a physical or medical detox.

Can energy healing treat stress, anxiety or illness? Energy healing is a complementary practice for rest and reflection, not a treatment. Please continue any care you receive from health professionals.

Is it available online? Neo Nour's private and group sessions are offered in person or online. For the combined crystal session, check availability on the Experiences page.

How often should I come? There's no set number. Some people come once; others return when they feel the need to pause.
